Mission Remains Largely Intact in Postseason

Five Mission League teams remain alive in the high school girls’ playoffs.
Notre Dame, Harvard-Westlake and Chaminade won Division III first-round games on Thursday night, while Alemany had a bye and hosts Nordhoff tonight. Louisville opens Division IV-AA play tonight at Cerritos Valley Christian.

Chaminade (11-12) and Rio Mesa (12-15) turned in two of the biggest upsets of the first round.
Chaminade beat Frontier League co-champion Santa Paula, 55-39, and Rio Mesa stunned Ocean League co-champion Leuzinger, 49-48.
Chaminade plays defending Division III champion Rosary, while Rio Mesa hosts Division I-AA champion Peninsula.
