SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO
The City Council recently approved street closures for the annual Fiesta de las Golondrinas, scheduled for March 25.
The closures are set for the celebration and parade from about 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. March 25.
The area affected will center around downtown San Juan Capistrano, particularly the Camino Capistrano-Del Obispo Street-Ortega Highway triangle just west of the Ortega Highway-Interstate 5 interchange.
The fiesta, which celebrates the arrival of the city’s famous swallows, includes a Swallows Day Parade, a block party known as a mercado and the Hoos’gow Day activities on the eve of the fiesta.
