* Nadia Bronson has been promoted to president, international theatrical marketing, distribution and operations for Universal Pictures, Universal City, the company said. Bronson previously served as president, international marketing.
In her new position, Bronson’s role will expand to include international distribution and operations responsibilities for all feature film releases.
* 101 Communications LLC, Chatsworth, announced three executive appointments. Scott Schmidt, former publisher of the Los Angeles Daily News, has been named publisher for the company’s vertical industry group. Mark Sande, most recently general manager of the sports section, Los Angeles Times, will become the director of business development. Elizabeth Gibbar, a veteran of the entertainment industry, has been named controller.
101 Communications acquires specialized information services and media targeting digital media and related industry professionals.
* R. Allen Urban has been appointed chief financial officer of CUShopper, the Credit Union Member’s Shopping Network, Burbank, the company said. Urban will be responsible for all financial aspects of the company. Prior to joining CUShopper, Urban was senior vice president and chief financial officer of Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas.
CUShopper enables credit union members to purchase computers and a host of other products at reduced rates and highly favorable credit union finance terms.
