Man Shot at Costa Mesa Apartment Complex
A 21-year-old Anaheim resident was shot several times during an altercation with another man Friday outside a Costa Mesa apartment complex, police said.
Lindsay Gaubautz had gone to pick up his 3-year-old daughter about 5 p.m. Friday at his estranged wife’s home in the 2700 block of Peterson Place when he got into an argument with Albert Summerville, 22, said Costa Mesa Police Lt. John Fitzpatrick.
Summerville allegedly shot Gaubautz with a 9-millimeter pistol, striking him in the stomach and the arm. Gaubautz was taken to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana and was released Saturday.
Summerville allegedly fled the scene, but police later found him inside the apartment complex and arrested him. He faces a possible attempted murder charge. He was taken to Costa Mesa City Jail, and bail was set at $50,000.
