The City Council on Tuesday is expected to take much of the new year’s first meeting discussing lawsuits and financial issues involving City Manager Arthur Simonian.
While most of the city’s business scheduled this week is listed under the meeting agenda’s consent calendar--items that are usually approved without discussion--council members have added several topics related to Simonian for discussion.
The council will talk about the legal activity between the city and Simonian, who was reinstated in November after being fired in September amid accusations of financial malfeasance. Simonian’s most recent lawsuit against the city, and whether to pay his monthly car lease, will also be discussed.
