Most ranked teams put the finishing touches on their nonleague schedules early this week before engaging in league play.
No. 3 Troy (14-1)--which last week suffered its only loss of the season, to Redmond (Wash.) in a San Francisco tournament--will play at Brea Olinda (10-4) Wednesday. The Wildcats are coming off a championship in their own tournament.
The Warriors--whose record is their best to this point in a season during Coach T.J. Hardeman’s 10-year tenure--then will open Freeway League play Friday against visiting Sonora.
Second-ranked Ocean View (13-2) plays at upstart University (10-4) on Saturday.
