Mossimo, Golfer Duval Sign Multiyear Deal
David Duval, the world’s No. 2-ranked golfer, has signed a multiyear, multimillion-dollar endorsement agreement with Mossimo Inc. to wear the company’s clothes, the Irvine apparel maker said Tuesday.
Financial terms weren’t disclosed.
Duval, who had been under contract to wear Tommy Hilfiger Corp. apparel for the past six years while on the PGA Tour, debuted his new look during this past weekend’s Williams World Challenge in Scottsdale, Ariz. He finished second to Tom Lehman in the $3.5-million event.
Mossimo is relatively new to golf clothing and produces apparel with more of a European style than Hilfiger’s loose-fitting, cotton-based line. The 28-year-old Duval, also known for wearing wraparound sunglasses while playing, wore all black during Sunday’s final round.
