RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA
The City Council will begin laying down the backbone of the city’s zoning and planning ordinances at its meeting today.
The city must assume the decision-making responsibility for all pending and future land use and development applications. Up until the Jan. 1 incorporation, the city’s planning was handled by the county and its Planning Commission, which followed a number of guidelines, including the County of Orange General Plan and the Rancho Santa Margarita Planned Community zoning district.
The City Council meets at 7 p.m. at the Trabuco Canyon Water District, 32003 Dove Canyon Drive, Trabuco Canyon.
