Fiset Appreciates Input from Edwards
Things hadn’t been going well. Still too fresh in Stephane Fiset’s mind was a trip east, when he was being blinded by the red lights flashing over his head in the King goal.
And, when he was guarding the goal well, he wasn’t getting any scoring to back him up.
Plainly, there was a need to talk with someone who understood. With that in mind, Fiset met with Donnie Edwards on Tuesday in St. Louis.
“He knows his job, and he’s a smart man,” Fiset said of the Kings’ former full-time goalie coach, now a consultant. “It’s good to have him around when I need him, and I was needing him right now.”
Edwards said he talked with Coach Andy Murray a few times and passed some things along to Fiset.
Technique was the topic.
“He gives you little things that give you confidence, and that’s good because he might see things other coaches don’t see because he played the game, he was a goalie,” Fiset said.
