Canyons Opens Up on Valley in 86-78 Victory

Tasha Allen scored 24 points for College of the Canyons in an 86-78 Western State Conference Southern Division victory over Valley on Wednesday night at Valley.

Kamee Allen scored 15 of her 20 points in the first half, including three three-point baskets, to help the Cougars open a 50-30 lead.

Shante Gifford scored 24 points for the Monarchs (12-8, 0-1 in conference play), including four three-point baskets, and Jenny Lee Greslie added 18 points.

Purdom made eight of 10 free throws for Canyons (13-6, 1-0).
