Police said Thursday that a man held on suspicion of stabbing another man during a gang fight on New Year’s Eve was released from custody for lack of evidence.
Police said the man was arrested by police after they received a report of 40 gang members fighting on Ramona Street. The victim suffered four stab wounds and was transported to UCI Medical Center in Orange, and later released.
On Monday, the district attorney’s office rejected the case brought against the arrested man, saying the police needed more information.
