The Westminster school board tabled its vote on mandatory school uniforms for students in kindergarten through eighth grade at its meeting Thursday.
Concerns over safety prompted officials to consider the proposal. A survey in September showed that 73% of parents responding favored the mandatory uniforms. But at the meeting Thursday, several parents objected to the plan. The school board will take up the issue again at its Jan. 20 meeting, possibly suggesting that the uniforms be optional instead of mandatory.
