Boy, 2, Injured When Hit by Car
PACOIMA — A 2-year-old boy was seriously injured Saturday afternoon when he dashed into the street and was hit by a car, said a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The accident occurred about 4:30 p.m. in the 13400 block of Desmond Street in Pacoima, said fire department spokesman Bob Collis.
The boy was airlifted to Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, where he was listed in serious condition with scalp lacerations and facial scrapes, hospital spokesman Steve Rutledge said.
“He’s awake and alert,” Rutledge said. Hospital officials declined to release the boy’s name.
Police did not expect to file charges against the driver, said Officer Ralph Fournier of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic division.
