* NEW MEXICO STATE (11-3, 2-0) at LONG BEACH STATE (10-3, 2-0), 9, ESPN--The 49ers, off to their best 13-game start since the 1992-93 season, get a chance to see how good they really are against the reigning Big West tournament champions. Winner of eight in a row, Long Beach State is beginning to look dominant, leading the conference in scoring, margin of victory, field-goal percentage, assists, blocked shots, steals and turnover margin. The Aggies are led by guard Eric Channing, who had 51 points in victories over UC Santa Barbara and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo last weekend. The 49ers defeated the Aggies the last time they met at the Pyramid, in 1998.
