Flight of Movie-Making

I had a nice laugh in reading Jeffrey Gettleman’s article, “Trying to Keep the Movies From Moving,” (Jan. 20).
It showed the hypocrisy of all these politicians and movie industry folks who long ago bit the hand that fed them and encouraged illegal immigration into America.
In Hollywood, patriotism and America First beliefs were never supported by these shallow characters.
All the global economy is mobile. As the global filmmaking business speeds up changes, Hollywood as a filmmaking hub will diminish as Canadian, Australian and even German filmmakers bust up this geographical monopoly.
In the speculative atmosphere of movie deal-making and film production, Berlin may rise to successfully challenge Hollywood within 10 years. The infrastructure and potential are there.
