LAGUNA BEACH
A stretch of ocean from Anita to Brooks streets remained closed Monday after county health officials closed the area to surfers and swimmers because of a sewage spill over the weekend.
The spill occurred Saturday when a city sewage line ruptured, spilling 50 gallons. Lifeguards posted warning signs on the beach at 5:15 p.m. Saturday. The beach will be reopened when the water tests clean, which could be as early as this afternoon, county health officials said.
