When stripping the finish off furniture, doors or wood molding, try this tip for removing the last bits of paint or varnish from narrow cracks and crevices: Fold a 2-inch strip of 120-grit sandpaper around the end of a putty knife. Then rub the knife back and forth in the cracks to remove the remaining specks of finish.
