SOUTHERN SECTION SOFTBALL FINALS

Boron 2, Temecula Linfield 0--Boron (21-5) won its 12th consecutive game and the Division VI title by scoring twice in the bottom of sixth inning.

Coty Tubb and Coni Jo Nelson singled, and pinch-runner Stephanie Sheasley scored on Emily Palmquist’s one-out drive to center field. Nelson scored on Jenna Nakaahiki’s two-out grounder.

Linfield had loaded the bases in the first inning against pitcher Jennifer Jenkins (21-4), who escaped trouble with two strikeouts and a line drive for an out.
