Missile Defense
I hope people, including President Clinton, read Marvin Goldberger and Herbert York’s June 2 commentary. After more than $60 billion, the antimissile system in the Gulf War didn’t work against the low-tech Scud missile.
The current system is a little better, but it is still doubtful for a real situation. A rogue nation has better and cheaper ways to deliver a weapon--a truck, an airplane or a boat.
“Star Wars” has been a hoax from the beginning and most knowledgeable people have known it for years, including the Russians.
