* If, as you state in your May 26 editorial, 39% of California traffic fatalities were not buckled up, then, conversely, 61% were wearing seat belts. The way to save lives is to avoid accidents. If more drivers signaled lane changes and yielded, there certainly would be a lot fewer accidents.
