The Police Department will hold a bone marrow drive from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m today at the Downtown Community Center, 250 E. Center St. Doctors say bone marrow transplants are the best chance of survival for two Anaheim detectives with leukemia, an Anaheim officer with Hodgkin’s disease and two children of other officers suffering from leukemia and a neuroblastoma. Finding a good match is difficult because donors must have key genetic markers that match those of the patients.
