“Gone With the Wind,” a mural painted from 1988-89 by artist and filmmaker Stephen Verona to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the classic 1939 film, will go up for auction at Christie’s in Beverly Hills, June 22 at 10 a.m.

Valued at $60,000 to $80,000, the 100-foot-long painting depicts 25 scenes from the film. Verona was commissioned to do the project by MGM and Ted Turner, but he retained ownership of the artwork and has consigned it to Christie’s along with 17 studies.

The sale will include a group of 240 hand-colored paper cells created by Verona in collaboration with John Lennon for the Beatles’ animated music video, “She Said So,” also valued at $60,000 and $80,000. The mural and the cels will be exhibited at Christie’s, 360 N. Camden Drive, on Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sunday, noon-5 p.m.; next Monday and June 20, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
