Food Bank Gift

* Re “Vons Gives $14,000 to Area Food Bank,” June 3.

Shame on you for giving Vons Markets credit for a $14,000 contribution to Food Share when the money came from customers who rounded up their bills to the nearest dollar.

Vons doesn’t give things away except outdated products and old bakery items, which they can report to the Internal Revenue Service at the full price of each item.

Come on, guys! Let’s have a high five for all the generous customers who really made this donation.
