Fiennes. Dandy.
Now you’ve done it: a feature on Ralph Fiennes, the intelligent and sexy star of “Sunshine” (“The Patient Englishman,” by Kristin Hohenadel, June 11). You also mentioned that this movie has explosions and babes. Next thing you know, everyone will be running to their local art house to see it, and pronouncing this to be his best film since “The English Patient.” Ralph will no longer be our little secret. We will have to share him with the likes of people who covet Mel Gibson and Tom Cruise. Will you be happy then?
Hohenadel captured the enigma that is Fiennes, and I am so happy to see that this film is getting the attention that it deserves. Instead of doing the Hollywood thing and promoting this picture from coast to coast, Fiennes is back on the London stage, not in the West End, but in a less attractive part of town. He does not play one role, but appears in dual roles as Richard II and Coriolanus. He will then fly to this side of the Atlantic, and thrill us in Brooklyn, not on Broadway.
Clearly, this Tony-winning and Academy Award-nominated actor likes to do things the hard way, and his fans appreciate him for bringing the theater to the people. Pictures and other facts about him can be viewed at https://www.softcom.net/users/witzn/witzn/ralph.html in addition to other Web sites in the Fiennest Web ring.

Thank you to whoever made the decision to run your piece on Ralph Fiennes. I enjoyed it immensely and was glad to see some coverage of him that didn’t cover the same boring ground. Very well done!
