Signature Eyewear Chief Steps Down
* Industry-based Signature Eyewear said company President Julie Heldman is relinquishing her role for health reasons, effective immediately. She will remain on the company’s board of directors. Bernard Weiss, the company’s chief executive, will assume Heldman’s responsibilities until a successor is named. Signature Eyewear designs and markets prescription eyeglass frames and sunglasses under such brands as Coach, Laura Ashley and others.
* B3 Corp., a Burbank-based applications service provider and a unit of Warner Music Group, has named Kendall Fitzhugh, a former finance executive with Entertainment Media Services, to the newly created post of vice president of production management. The company also named Julie Wax director of application development. A former consultant for Norstan Consulting, Wax will be responsible for defining the next-generation platform for B3’s product offerings.
* Rancho Cordova-based Play Streaming Media Group, an Internet broadcasting service provider, said Ted Briscoe has joined the company as president and chief executive. He previously was president and chief operating officer of Ask Jeeves. The company also named David Hellier executive vice president.
* Los Angeles-based Fandango Inc., a partnership formed in March that includes seven of the largest movie exhibitors in North America, appointed Arthur Levitt III president and chief executive. Formerly president of Disney Regional Entertainment and president and CEO of Hard Rock Cafe International, Levitt will oversee all aspects of the fledgling service that provides consumer services such as film show times, trailers, reviews and the exclusive ability to purchase tickets for theaters operated by the partners: Loews Cineplex Entertainment, Regal Cinemas, Carmike Cinemas, Cinemark, General Cinema, Edwards Theatres and Century.
