ShowBiz Expo at L.A. Convention Center
Although Los Angeles might be losing some of its luster as the world’s entertainment capital, the show must go on. The show in this case is the Variety-sponsored ShowBiz Expo, which each year takes over the Los Angeles Convention Center with what is billed as the definitive exposition on products and services for film, television and new-media production. Despite jitters over runaway production and growing strife between actors and producers, thousands in the industry are expected to crowd the Convention Center over the show’s three-day run beginning Friday. Highlights this year include updates on media streaming on the Internet and state-of-the-art visual effects displays. For information, call (800) 840-5688.
