The Police Department honored 23 employees for not using any sick leave during 1999.
At the department’s inaugural recognition reception last week, Investigator Elaine Jordan was also honored for outstanding work on homicide, serious assault and missing persons cases and Community Services Officer Thien Cao was honored for his outreach programs and crime prevention efforts in the Vietnamese community. The department recognized 29 more officers for outstanding work and commitment.
Three officers were promoted at the event and a retirement badge was given to Sgt. Dale Farley for 31 years of service in Garden Grove.
