City officials will discuss renovations for Coyote Creek with local residents tonight at 6:30 in a town hall meeting at the City Council chambers.
The city plans to discuss a project to enclose an open section of Coyote Creek in an underground waterway, which would alleviate flooding damage along the creek running between Whittier and La Habra boulevards, he added.
City officials said the 2,500-foot section of the creek is a natural earthen waterway running through a housing development in north La Habra. Years of erosion have stripped the dirt base from local backyard fences and the channel is too small to handle water flow from heavy downpours.
