The City Council agreed to pay former City Treasurer Elizabeth Stoddard $129,000, effectively settling a dispute in which she claimed the city manager improperly fired her.
The unanimous decision came during the City Council meeting Monday.
Stoddard filed a claim against the city in September. She alleged that City Manager Keith Till dismissed her for revealing that he had tried to avoid reporting $6,000 in taxable income.
The city manager has repeatedly called the firing a decision based on “philosophical differences.”
