Santa Margarita won its second Southern Section Golf title, shooting a team total 383 in the section final at Saticoy Country Club in Somis.
Senior Steve Conway and sophomore Taylor Wood each shot 75 for the Eagles, who finished eight shots ahead of Atascadero and 15 ahead of third-place Long Beach Wilson. Riverside Poly shot 399 and earned the final berth in the CIF-SCGA finals June 6 at the SCGA Members Club in Murrieta.
Cerritos sophomore Sonny Nimkhum was medalist with an even-par 72. Only 22 players in the 96-player field broke 80.
Oak Park, the lone team from the Valley-Ventura County region, shot 434 and finished last in the 16-team field.
James Logeman shot 81 to lead Oak Park, and Brandon Beck and Anton Nikolic each shot 87.
The Eagles were making their first appearance in the section finals after advancing via a sixth-man playoff in a division tournament Monday at Soule Park.
