In a repeat of last year’s championship match, Garden Grove will host Villa Park in a Southern Section Division I semifinal today.

Each team has lost only once in the last two seasons, to each other.

Second-seeded Garden Grove (15-0), which won last year’s title match, 10-9, has cruised through the playoffs, winning all three of its matches by a score of 17-2. Third-seeded Villa Park (14-0), which has juggled its roster throughout the playoffs, hasn’t had it so easy, giving up 17 points.

The winner of today’s match will advance to Tuesday’s championship against the Alhambra-Cerritos winner. The final will be at 3 p.m. at the Orange County Badminton Club in Orange.
