Kings Move to Keep Storr, Murray
Working to stabilize and finalize their roster before the upcoming expansion draft, the Kings exercised contract options on goalie Jamie Storr and right wing Glen Murray on Wednesday.
As usual, the Kings did not release terms, but a source close to the situation said that Storr would earn $1.45 million next season, Murray $1.375 million.
Storr had his best NHL season, with an 18-15-5 record and 2.53 goals-against average, sharing time with Stephane Fiset. Storr participated in only one playoff game, subbing for Fiset in Game 2 against the Detroit Red Wings.
Murray had a personal-best 62 points in 78 games and scored 29 goals, matching his career high. He did not score in the playoffs.
Still to be determined are options on winger Steve McKenna, center Bob Corkum and defenseman Jaroslav Modry, as well as contract renewals for several players who can be Group II free agents July 1.
