Students Speak Up During Competition
Hundreds of middle school students from Ventura and Los Angeles counties competed in the first Camino Real Speech Tournament of the year over the weekend at Los Altos Middle School.
The 250 students delivered humorous, dramatic and informational speeches. The Saturday event was hosted by the Los Altos Speechkids and was judged by parents and high school students.
The first-place winners from Ventura County included: Stephan Seguin, Phuong Mai, Keisha Huse, Doug Bell, Danny Moore, Alex Felker, Summer Florence and Jeremy Merrill. The next Camino Real Speech Tournament is set to be held at Salesian High School in Los Angeles.
