A Special Julia Dinner
It seems every time Julia Child turns around, she’s being honored for something or the other. But this time is special.
A cast of all-star chefs will cook at a fund-raiser for the Cal Poly Pomona hospitality program in Child’s honor Dec. 2. They’ll include Mark Peel and Nancy Silverton from Campanile, Michel Richard and Roberto Donna from Washington, D.C., George Morrone, Roland Passot and Michael Mina from the Bay Area, and Jean-Louis Palladin and Drew Nieporent from New York.
During the dinner, Child will be presented with the Robert Mondavi Wine and Food Award by Robert Mondavi and Margrit Biever Mondavi.
Tickets for the event, which will be held at the Los Angeles Marriott Downtown, are $300. The dinner begins at 7:30 p.m. and will be preceded by a silent auction of luxury items at 5 p.m. For more information, call Barbara Russell at the Collins School of Hospitality Management at (909) 869-4471.
