Why are we importing more engineers into this country? There are unemployed and underemployed engineers in this country who are not being utilized. I am one of them. Employers use excuses not to employ mature engineers with good work ethics. Employers will not provide training to help engineers fit the new jobs, even when the government will pay for the training. What do the employers want? Cheap labor. H-1B employees who become indentured servants with no rights to stay in this country.
