Got Independent Spirit? Film Entry Deadline Set

Oct. 13 is the submission deadline for the 16th annual Independent Spirit Awards, honoring the best in independent films.

Submissions, which should be sent to IFP/West, 1964 Westwood Blvd., Suite 205, Los Angeles, CA 90025, must be at least 70 minutes long and have been shown for at least one day in a commercial theater during the 2000 calendar year.

Two new categories have been created this year: best documentary and best feature made for under $500,000.
