FULLERTON
Bus service along Chapman Avenue will be extended to weekends starting Saturday.
After a month of monitoring the county’s new bus routes, officials determined this week that service is needed Saturdays and Sundays along Route 24--the line that runs between Fullerton and Placentia past stores and businesses on Chapman Avenue.
“We’re finding that a lot of folks who work or shop on the weekend really need that route,” said Dave Simpson, OCTA spokesman.
The transit authority on Sept. 10 established new bus routes in a “Point-to-Point” system designed to address changes in riders’ needs. Earlier weekend service in that area had been eliminated under the new plan.
