PUC Names New Consumer Unit Chief
The state Public Utilities Commission last week named Richard Clark director of the agency’s consumer services division, which oversees consumer protection matters and utility investigations.
Clark fills a post left vacant in August by the removal of longtime director William Schulte. Loretta Lynch, the California PUC’s new president, said at the time that she wanted the consumer services unit to be more aggressive in pursuing consumer cases and complaints.
Clark comes to the PUC from the state Department of Industrial Relations, where he was chief deputy labor commissioner in charge of enforcing California’s labor laws.
