FULLERTON
The city’s eight City Council candidates are in high gear working to get elected Nov. 7. But the Fullerton Police Officers Assn. has spent $9,726 on mailers campaigning against two candidates.
The mailers target Councilman Chris Norby and challenger Mike Clesceri, according to documents filed last week at City Hall.
Clesceri is the top fund-raiser and spender in the council race so far. Campaign statements filed Thursday show he raised $32,056 since January and spent $19,971 on his campaign. Mayor F. Richard Jones raised $27,954 and spent $19,428, and Norby raised $11,585 and spent $7,735 so far.
Challenger Bob McNutt raised $13,144 and has spent $9,447, with fellow candidates Deborah M. Kelly, Barbara J. Marr, Craig Russell and Brent Hardwick running on campaign chests ranging from nothing to about $4,333.
