Activities Planned for Arbor Day
Simi Valley will hold an Arbor Day celebration and program from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the City Hall Gazebo, 2929 Tapo Canyon Road.
The City Council has designated October as “Green is Good” Arbor Month in Simi Valley. At Saturday’s event, people may attend a training and educational program on the health and care of trees in an urban community.
The program will kick off with a ceremonial tree planting.
Attendees will also be schooled on managing local insect and disease problems, tree selection for residential landscapes, and tree pruning. Local horticultural professionals will give demonstrations as well.
The program is free to the public. For more information, call 583-6393.
