No. 9 Villa Park (5-0) vs. El Modena (4-1)
7 TONIGHT EL MODENA HIGH
After Adam Lancisero scored a two-point conversion with 1:35 remaining for a 15-14 victory over previously unbeaten Fullerton, El Modena’s confidence should be sky-high. The Vanguards will need every edge they can get; their only loss, 21-13 to Loara, was to an opponent Villa Park defeated, 26-14. El Modena’s hallmark has been its defense, which has two shutouts and has given up only 20 points in the team’s four victories. Villa Park’s defense has yet to give up more than 15 points in any game, and defensive back Bryan Arguello leads the county with five interceptions.
