A Rain-Soaked Holiday in Hawaii
If life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. If it gives you rain, you hold a rain festival. At least that seems to be the philosophy of Hilo, Hawaii, which claims to be the wettest city in the state. On Saturday it throws its first-ever Hilo Rain Festival, with a parade featuring decorated umbrellas, a “Rainstock” music and crafts expo and a “water carnival” that includes a belly-flop contest.
