An Eco-Friendly Enclave
While I enjoyed reading about venues in my own community, Culver City, Dianne Bates left out one of our newest destinations (Itinerary, Sept. 28).
The STAR Eco Station, an environmental science and wildlife rescue center at 10101 W. Jefferson Blvd., is open every weekend from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Guided tours begin on the half-hour. The entry fee is $5 for children, $7 for adults and $6 for seniors.
Meet Ozzie, the environmental cockatoo, in our outdoor aviary. Enter our Mayan temple and visit the lurking reptiles. See ocean life like you’ve never seen it before and learn about the impact of dumping trash and how it affects the kelp forests. For more information, call (310) 842-8060.
