League to Hold Public Forums on State Ballot
The Central Orange County League of Women Voters will hold two public forums next week to educate residents about eight state ballot measures.
One will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Garden Grove Regional Library, 11200 Stanford Ave.; the second will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Center, 480 S. Batavia, Orange.
The forums are free.
“We hold these public forums, of course, to encourage people to become involved,” said Marilyn Dettmann, a spokeswoman for the league. “But we also are holding them to try and give an unbiased, simple explanation of the issues.”
Dettmann said they will present each of the measures carefully. “The issues are always complicated, and I think it really helps when we try to explain them in simple terms.”
Each forum can accommodate 50 people. For more information, call the League of Women Voters at (714) 664-5145.
