Pasadena 28, Hoover 6--The Tornadoes scored first in a game for the first time this season but Pasadena took control in a Pacific League game at Glendale High.
The Tornadoes (0-8, 0-3) scored on a four-yard touchdown run by Armond Esmaili early in the first quarter. Paul Daniels set up the score with a 62-yard return on the opening kickoff.
Pasadena (1-7, 1-2) tied it on a 39-yard touchdown run by William Stokes midway through the first quarter and went ahead on a 48-yard pass play from Kenneth McDaniels to Stokes on the first play of the second quarter.
Stokes rushed for 82 yards in five carries.
Hoover finished with 173 total yards.
Esmaili finished with 84 yards in 19 carries and Sal Rangel had 67 yards in 13 carries.
Robert Kurtz completed one of eight passes for 14 yards with two interceptions.
