Reading the Fine Print
The Travel Insider column “Tracking the Fax Version of Vacation Come-Ons” (Oct. 8) hit home--not because our similar trip was bogus but because it was just what the promoters said it was.
Several years ago, we received in the mail one of these deals, which included visiting Orlando, Fla., a boat trip to the Bahamas and other little things. We were not only pleased with it, but we told many friends about it upon arriving back in Los Angeles. Because we read things thoroughly, we knew it was a time-share presentation and all that goes with that, and we investigated the offer with the Better Business Bureau.
To those who either get a call or receive something by mail, my advice is to ask questions.
