Vitesse Semiconductor Completes Acquisition

Vitesse Semiconductor Corp. in Camarillo has completed the acquisition of FirstPass Inc. for $22.7 million in cash, common stock and assumed stock options.

Founded in 1993, FirstPass provides integrated circuit design services to a variety of businesses. The company has 19 employees and is located in Castle Rock, Colo.

“The acquisition of FirstPass further enhances our design expertise and will allow us to bring products to market more rapidly,” said Lou Tomasetta, Vitesse’s president and chief executive. “We have worked with FirstPass on a number of projects over the years and have been impressed by the strength and experience of its design team.”

Vitesse operates fabrication facilities in Camarillo and Colorado Springs, Colo.
