Hornets Win Women’s Golf Title
Fullerton easily won the team title and Cypress’ Russamee Gulyanamitta took the individual title at the Orange Empire Conference women’s golf championships Monday at the El Toro Marine Base.
Fullerton finished at 674 and Cypress was second at 695.
Fullerton (7-3) led Cypress by 14 strokes heading into Monday’s second and final round, and every Fullerton player improved from last week’s first round.
Gulyanamitta, who had rounds of 74 and 72, was the medalist at 146. Fullerton’s Hye Joon Jung (164) was second and Saddleback’s Karlie Ward (169) was third.
Fullerton’s Annie Chung (172) was fourth and teammate Han Hyun (174) finished fifth.
Saddleback (8-2), the regular-season conference champion, and Fullerton advance to the two-day Southern California regional starting Sunday at Menifee Lakes.
