Australian Women Have a Strong Start

The Australian women’s team, a 9-2 victor over Kazakhstan Saturday in the first-ever Olympic women’s water polo match, followed up with a 6-3 victory over Russia today at Ryde.
Bridgette Gusterson scored two second-half goals, including the one that put Australia ahead to stay, at 4-3, with 52 seconds left in the third quarter.
In its first match, Russia had to settle for a 7-7 tie with Canada.
