New Horizons Worldwide Buys Two Franchises

New Horizons Worldwide Inc., a Santa Ana owner and franchiser of New Horizons Computer Learning Centers, said Tuesday that it has acquired its franchise locations in Atlanta and Marietta, Ga., for $16 million in cash and 113,984 shares of New Horizons stock worth about $1.5 million.
Shareholders of Appletree Technologies Inc., which operated the Georgia franchises, could receive additional cash and stock if the centers achieve certain performance targets in the future, New Horizons said.
New Horizons shares closed Tuesday at $13.50, off 56 cents, in Nasdaq trading.
